Markus J. Goetzmann studied law at the Universities of Bonn (state examination), Aberdeen, Scotland (LL.M. in International Commercial Law) and Münster (PhD in International Employee Invention Law).
In addition to his studies, he worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Roman Law at the University of Bonn. During his legal clerkship he worked for several months in a large law firm in Philadelphia, USA.
From 2005 to 2016, Markus J. Goetzmann worked for a supra-regional business consulting firm in Cologne. Markus J. Goetzmann is a specialist lawyer for employment law and has been a partner at LLR since 2016. For several years he has also held a teaching position for employment law at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences in Cologne.
Markus J. Goetzmann provides comprehensive advice on all aspects of labour law, both collective and individual. The main focus of his practice is on ongoing advice in personnel matters and comprehensive advice in connection with restructuring and transfers of businesses.
His clients include nationwide operating companies and associations, but also board members and managing directors as well as professional athletes and executives. He also advises in international cases.
Markus J. Goetzmann advises on and participates in negotiations of collective agreements and works agreements as well as conciliation proceedings. He has many years of experience in conducting court proceedings and also advises on employee invention law.
Markus J. Goetzmann regularly gives lectures on all areas of employment law, both within the framework of external seminar providers as well as in-house training courses or attorney training. He is also a lecturer at the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Media in Cologne.
Markus J. Goetzmann is a member of the German Labour Court Association and the Cologne Bar Association.
