ABOUT THE PERSON

Jean-David Koch studied law at the University of Bonn, specializing in tax law. After spending a year abroad at L’Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris (SciencesPo), he successfully completed his first state law exam at the end of 2019. He then worked as a research assistant in the tax law practice group at a major international law firm in Düsseldorf.

Jean-David Koch completed his legal clerkship at the Bonn Regional Court. During this time, he spent time at the Federal Central Tax Office and a major international law firm in Düsseldorf, Paris, and Washington, D.C., where he gained in-depth knowledge of tax law.

After successfully completing his second state law examination, Jean-David Koch worked as a lawyer in the tax law practice group of a major international law firm in Düsseldorf from 2023. At the end of 2025, he joined the Cologne office of LLR.

Jean-David Koch advises on corporate and tax law.

A related focus is advising on corporate succession, corporate restructuring, and corporate transfers, which cannot be structured without tax law support. Another focus is advising on national and international M&A transactions.

In his free time, Jean-David Koch enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing sports (hockey, tennis, golf).
