ABOUT THE PERSON

Markus J. Goetzmann studied law at the Universities of Bonn (state examination), Aberdeen (LL.M. in International Commercial Law) and Münster (doctorate in International Employee Invention Law). During his studies, he was a research assistant at the University of Bonn for many years and worked for several months in a major American law firm in Philadelphia during his legal clerkship.

 

From 2005 to 2016, Markus J. Goetzmann worked for a national business law firm in Cologne. Markus J. Goetzmann is a specialist lawyer for labour law and has been a partner at LLR since 2016. He has also been a lecturer in labour law at a private university for many years.

 

Markus J. Goetzmann provides comprehensive advice on all aspects of labour law, both collective and individual. The focus of his work is on providing ongoing advice on personnel matters as well as comprehensive advice in connection with restructurings and transfers of undertakings. His clients include companies and associations operating nationwide, as well as board members and managing directors, professional athletes and senior executives. He also advises on cases with a foreign dimension.


Markus J. Goetzmann advises on and participates in the negotiation of collective agreements and works agreements, including conciliation committee proceedings. He has many years of experience in conducting court proceedings and also advises on employee invention law. In addition, professional athletes repeatedly rely on his experience when it comes to separation solutions and changing clubs.

 

Markus J. Goetzmann regularly gives lectures on all areas of labour law, both as part of external seminar providers and in-house training courses or in further training for lawyers.
